This year marks the start of our 2nd fall season here in Southern California and it’s an idea that we still are not used to. Coming from the midwest and upstate New York, Steve and I are accustomed to colorful trees with leaves decorating the streets.
Although palm trees and blue skies are great, we are missing the colorful fall season. One action item that we are taking to bring fall to our Southern California home is by decorating the porch with pumpkins and mums. With a trip to our local grocery stores and home improvement stores, I was able to pick out some mums that weren’t fully bloomed yet so they would last a little longer.
A trip to Homegoods never fails so as well so I stopped by and picked up a pretty fall wreath for our front door which we’ll be able to re use for years to come.
With a few pumpkins and a couple of mums (I didn’t even change the black plastic pots they came in), you’ll be able to update your porch quickly for the season regardless of where you live.
